A little about NWB

We started in 2004 with a group of dedicated naturopathic medical students passionate about bringing Naturopathic healthcare to underserved populations. At that time Naturopaths Without Borders, a student club at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona, focused on local educational projects. These projects ranged from offering medical Spanish and cultural competency courses to working in conjunction with Hamilton Elementary and the South East Facility Juvenile Detention Center in Mesa, Arizona. In 2006 projects expanded to include our first international medical mission trips, including yearly trips to volunteer with Mar De Jade in Chacala, Nayarit, Mexico and running monthly weekend pediatric clinics in conjunction with Manos De Ayuda in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. Since that time, NWB has teamed up with several international organizations, including New Birth Mexican Mission (Puerto Penasco, Mexico), Manos De Ayuda (Puerto Penasco, Mexico), MamaBabyHaiti (Cap Haitien, Haiti), Mar de Jade (Chacala,Mexico), Orphanage Outreach (Dominican Republic and now Nicaragua), and GUAMAP (Guatemala Acupuncture Project). In 2010 NWB expanded our family to include our newest student chapter at Bastyr University and subsequently began planning its transition to an internationally-operated organization.
